WHAT A WEEK - ANOTHER MILESTONE!
REBELS 'A' GRADE HAVE FINALLY BEEN REWARDED FOR
THE HARD WORK THIS SEASON, AFTER A NUMBER OF CLOSE GAMES -
THEY GRABBED THEIR FIRST WIN IN FOUR YEARS, AGAINST RIVAL SEACOMBE.

Going into the top of the 7th innings 1-3 down,
Rebels spirit and determination was high.  It was a 'never say never' moment.
A team effort saw Rebels steal the lead and
have everyone sitting on the edge of their seats.
It was all over after Nat Mead shut out the Tigers in the bottom 7
and the game was ours  4 to 3.

Congratulations to everyone!

UNDER 14 JUNIOR STATE CHAMPIONS!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE UNDER 14 NAVY WHO HEAD HOME UNDEFEATED WITH THE PREMIERSHIP SHIELD AFTER A FABULOUS WEEKEND AT SUNRAYSIA SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION WITH THE
JUNIOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
After a 9-all draw against Port Adelaide, they took them on in the Grand Final and
conquered with a 13 to 7 win.

AND A JOB WELL DONE TO THE OTHER TEAMS:
UNDER 14 WHITE FINISHED 4TH
UNDER 16 TEAM (5TH) HAD SOME CLOSE GAMES AND FINISHED ON A
GOOD WIN AGAINST  HILLS.

REBELS CLUB DAY AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS

Thanks to an outstanding band of dedicated workers - the Glenelg Rebels Club Day provided a fabulous return to softball from the midseason break
- with some great results around the diamonds as well.

Since the event, we have received numerous notes or thanks for the day ... and people are already eager to get it in the diary for next year!

Attended by our Patron - Mayor Felicity-Ann Lewis; Club sponsors from Marion Sports & Community Club; Warradale Hotel; and Brenton Pope Insurance - and of course, very well represented by the Life Members of our Club - and was catered under the Rebels marquee at Barrett Reserve.

A special thankyou to all who made the event possible - and an extra special mention must go to the Rebels Gourmet Chef Doug Wheatley (and his team of merry workers - in Andrew Gay, Neil Matotek and Con Tsesmelis) who ensured our VIPs dined well, while still looking after the players and families.  Liz McGee took reign as host of the VIP tent and did a great job with her "helper team"....  Thanks to everyone!

The Rebels players, particularly the young'ens had a great time while the A grade put on an admirable challenge against Walkerville, eventually going down 4 - 1.

Many comments were made, thanking the club for the opportunity, and noting the professionalism and family atmosphere that was so evident.

Pride in our History; Belief in our Future.....  Rebels you do us proud and showed a strength in our club.

Well done to all our our Rebels State Team and Development Team representatives who participated over the season break in the various tournaments around the country...
